Daybreak

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Short version: Daybreak does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Overview

Daybreak is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with a focused productivity dashboard. This policy explains what data the extension uses and where it goes.

Data stored on your device

Daybreak stores the following information locally in your browser using localStorage. None of this data is ever transmitted to any server operated by the developer.

External API calls

Daybreak makes outbound requests to the following third-party services to power specific features. Your data is not retained by the developer through any of these calls.

Location

If you enable the weather feature, Daybreak requests your browser's geolocation to determine your city and fetch local weather. Your coordinates are passed directly to Open-Meteo and Nominatim and are not stored by the extension or by the developer. You can deny the location prompt — the weather card will not appear.

No tracking or analytics

Daybreak contains no analytics libraries, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or third-party monitoring of any kind. The developer has no visibility into how you use the extension.

No accounts

Daybreak does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use any feature.

Data sharing

The developer does not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for any purpose.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated date at the top of this page will reflect that. Continued use of the extension constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
